Susanna L. Southworth, Ph.D., J.D.
Dr. Susanna Southworth is dedicated to ending human trafficking and child sexual exploitation. Through her law firm, Restore the Child, PLLC, she represents victims of abuse, online exploitation, child sex abuse material (CSAM), and sex trafficking. Susanna’s mission is for her clients to experience a new beginning, to a life free from the pain of past abuse, while receiving maximum recovery for their harm.
Tanya Hankins is an attorney and advocate for survivors of sexual abuse and child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Through Restore the Child, PLLC, she represents victims and survivors across the United States and internationally, including individuals harmed in some of the most widely circulated CSAM series. Over the past decade, Ms. Hankins has secured meaningful restitution for survivors and continues to expand access to justice through trauma-informed, survivor-led legal advocacy.
Ms. Hankins brings more than twenty years of experience supporting survivors of violence and abuse. She earned her J.D. from Seattle University School of Law in 2004, concentrating on immigration and international law and assisting women survivors of abuse navigating the immigration system. As her work increasingly revealed the gaps in legal protections for children exploited through CSAM, she transitioned her practice to focus on representing these survivors. She developed specialized, trauma-informed legal approaches to help CSAM survivors assert their rights, seek restitution, and regain agency in legal processes.
Throughout her career, Ms. Hankins has successfully held systems and institutions accountable, including foster care agencies, mental‑health facilities, and private entities, for failing to protect victims. Her current practice centers on vindicating the rights of survivors of CSAM and other sexual abuse crimes while supporting their healing journeys. She remains dedicated to advocacy that is survivor-sensitive, survivor-informed, and survivor-led, ensuring that her clients’ voices guide their pursuit of justice.
